Summit - Transitioned this life 3/1/2018 in Summit, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ he has been a resident of Plainfield 36 yrs. formerly of East Orange. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Springfield and a former member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark, and employed as a service technician for Elizabeth Town Gas Co. for 35 yrs. and a veteran of the US Army stationed in Korean. He was a member of Stone Square Lodge #38 P.H.A. Plainfield and Golconda Temple #24 . Predeceased by his wife Sharon , parents Eugene Sr., and Mary E. Major. Surviving are his daughter Stephanie D. Johnson, sisters Arlene E. Patrick(Nathaniel) , Norma jean Nicholson-Brown and a host of loving relatives and friends. Visitation 5-8 PM at Antioch Baptist Church Springfield. Funeral services 8 PM, Masonic services at 6 PM. Arrangements by Judkins. www.judkinscolonialhome.com
