Truly disappointed to find out at an elapsed time period the loss of a True Friend and Mentor. George was my first Air Force Supervisor. He was an intelligent, caring and profound leader. I am disappointed that I didn't get a chance to speak with him prior to his death. My Friend enjoy your Heavenly Home!

As a reporter covering Lakewood for The Tri-Town News 16 years ago, I had the privilege of meeting and interviewing George for my newspaper. He was a man of integrity who served his country with honor and distinction during WWII, as well as a passionate advocate who championed the survival of Lakewood's historic Greenwood Cemetery, where he is now laid to rest. R.I.P., dear friend.

To the Family and Friends of George Watson,
A special Tuskegee Airman star has reached his place in the heavens. George was a very out spoken man of many talents and wonderful stories. He was a constant mentor and visitor at the center and JBMDL. As an honorary speaker at the USAF Expeditionary Center we will never forget how he captured us with his talented way of telling his story of joining the service and receiving his medal in Washington with the commander of the USAF EC. He always had a laugh, a smile and a story to share to everyone he met. He will be truly be missed!!

Mr. Watson helped me reach elementary students as he taught them about the Tuskegee Airmen's role in WWII. Because I was lucky enough to meet him, I learned so much and taught so much more. It was an honor and a blessing to have known Mr. George Watson Sr. Thank you for your service, Sir!

George Watson always fought for the promise of America when America did not always live up to its promise. When the long history of the modern civil rights movement is told, the Tuskegee Airman rightfully share the stage with other luminaries like Martin Luther King, Ida B Wells, and the Freedom Riders. Another enduring legacy that should not be overlooked Georg'es dedication to his family. Rest in peace, American hero.
