Mollie Kalfen Obituary
AGE: 95 • Highland Park
Mollie Kalfen, 95, of Highland Park passed away on Tuesday, September 5th in Somerset.
Born and raised in New York City, Mollie grew up in her parents candy store. After her marriage in the early 1950's, she settled in Highland Park. She was one of a few Jewish women of her day to attend college and later work for a law firm and accounting firm in New York City. After Mollie raised her family, she returned to work part time at Littman Jewelers in Highland Park. She was an avid cross-word puzzler and she was also very tech savvy, keeping in touch with her family on Facebook from her iPad. Mollie was a beloved wife, cherished mother and grandmother and she will be missed by all of her friends and family.
Predeceased by her husband Charles in 2000, she is survived by her children, Maxine Kalfen-Hecht and her husband David, Helene Kalfen-Black and her partner Ramon Soto and Herman Kalfen and his partner Erin McMahon; her grandchildren Greg, Jessie, Bella and Gabe. Mollie was soon to become a great-grand mother.
Friends are invited to attend a 1:00 PM Graveside service today at Beth Israel Cemetery, Route 1 and Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge. Arrangements are under the direction of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel (www.bimemorialcha pel.com), Spotswood.
