South Plainfeld - Catherine "Kate"(Foley) Horan, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday January 11, 2019 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center in Watchung.

Catherine was born in County Kerry, Ireland and immigrated to Jersey City with her husband, John and daughter, Mary in October of 1958.

Catherine served as a home health aide to the senior population of Jersey City and Bayonne for over thirty years, often taking two buses to reach a person in need. Catherine and her late husband relocated to South Plainfield in 2002 to be closer to family, which was so important to her.

Catherine is predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, John "Johnnie" Horan; brothers, Denis, John, Tom, Moss and Bill Foley and sister, Moll Bryant.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Mary Lillis and husband Marty of Neptune; three grandchildren, Martin Lillis and wife Nicole, Michael Lillis and wife Brittany and Mary Catherine Weiss and husband Charlie and a great granddaughter, Kaylee Grace.

She will also be missed by her siblings, Michael Foley, Patsy Duggan and Noreen Kelly.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield at 10AM.

Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.

Family and friends may gather on Wednesday from 4-8PM in the funeral home.

The Horan and Lillis family would like to especially thank the staff at McAuley Hall Health Care Center for their kind and loving care, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McAuley Hall in Catherine's memory.
