AGE: 96 • Long Beach Island

Gladys Bintliff, age 96, passed on Oct. 17, 2013. She was born and raised in Bristol, Pa. She graduated class of 1935, Bristol High. Daughter of the late Katherine and John Smith; sisters, Allita Cox and Elizabeth McCoy- Snyder; beloved wife of Clayton (Dubby) Bintliff.

Survived by loving daughter and son-in-law, Kathie (Kate) and Charlie Howe; grandson, Bryan Hopkins, wife Amy, and son Lucas, grandson, Paul Hopkins, step-grandson, C.W. Howe and son, Charles Joseph, step-grandson, Douglas Howe; also survived by loving step-granddaughter, Tara and many nieces and nephews.

Gladys took pride in her many accomplishments; Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Bristol; President of the Bristol Travel Club; bookkeeper for Planned Parenthood, Bucks County, Pa.. Over 800 hours of vol. work for Southern Ocean Hospital. Gladys retired to her home on Long Beach Island and enjoyed her family and friends. She was an ardent game enthusiast and Bridge player.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Gladys' Life, Nov. 9, 11 AM at the United Church of Surf City, 7th and Central. A luncheon will follow at the Surf City Fire House, 7th and L.B. Blvd. Donations in her name may be made to U.C.S.C., 7th street, 08008, S.C. Fire, EMS, 7th street, 08008, Zion Lutheran, Barnegat Lt., 08006, Hospice Meridian, Manahawkin 08050. Arrangements are under the direction of Ocean County Cremation Service, Forked River.
