Lillian B. Connor

Princeton, ME & Somerville, NJ - Lillian B. Connor, 92, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Marshall's Healthcare Facility in Machias, ME. Lillian was born in Somerville, NJ on October 3, 1925, daughter of George and Luella (Steener) Zimmerman. She graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1944. That same year, Lillian started her career with New Jersey Bell Telephone Company, where she worked for over 30 years.

While serving as Secretary for Parents Without Partners, she met the love of her life, James Connor. About a year later, on June 28, 1972, they were united in marriage, and together, with their combined families, they spent the following 46 years together.

Upon retiring, Lillian and James purchased a winter home in Florida, a place they enjoyed for the next 30 years. Lillian's love for nature and James' love of fishing led them to Maine on many family vacations where they found a camp for sale in Princeton in 1978. Princeton eventually became their home. Lillian was a member of the Princeton Rod & Gun Club and enjoyed crafts and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her beloved James; two sons, James Connor III and John Connor; a daughter Denise Heid; two brothers, Charles and George Zimmerman; and two brothers-in-law, David and Donald Connor.

Lillian will be sadly missed by her six children, Linda Sybrant of Mora, MN, Mary Ann Mackrell of Hagerstown, MD, Wayne Mott and his wife Hilda of Middlesex, NJ, Kimberly Rudnick and her husband Forrest of East Stroudsburg, PA, Brenda Connor of Monmouth Junction, NJ, and Douglas Connor of Somerville, NJ; sister, Beatrice Staats of NJ; a brother, Albert Zimmerman and his wife Regina of SC; sisters-in-law Charlotte Zimmerman and Ruth Connor, all of NJ; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Lillian's Life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Princeton Baptist Church, 86 Main St., Princeton, ME. Burial will take place in Somerville, NJ. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport, ME. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.mays
