Mary Zaccardi

Belford - Mary Zaccardi, 90, of Belford, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2021 in her home in Belford, NJ. She was born in Jersey City, NJ in 1930. She married her beloved husband, Joseph, in June 1951 and they started their family. Mary and Joe moved to Leonardo in 1981 and finally to Belford in 1985. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a kind and sensitive caregiver starting as a young woman caring for her husband's ill grandmother then through the years tending to the needs of so many others. Generous to a fault and thoughtful, Mary never forgot a birthday, anniversary or special occasion. She was smart, well-informed, witty and delightfully quirky. Her love was more often shown than simply spoken; a rare and special gift for those receiving it. She will be missed terribly and the world is a less interesting place without her.

Mary is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Joan Zaccardi, Michael and Carol Zaccardi; daughter and son-in-law, Anne Zaccardi-Henry and Brian Henry; four grandchildren, Michael Zaccardi, Diane Baldwin and her husband Evan, Joseph Zaccardi and his wife Allison, Margot Borgel and her husband Michael; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Margaret Lambe; brother-in-law Dennis Zaccardi and his wife Paula; and great-grandchildren, Katy, Sean, Maeve, Colin, Joseph and Natalie. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Zaccardi; son, Thomas Zaccardi; brother, Thomas J. Lambe; sister, Anna M. Nestor; her parents Thomas and Margaret (Peg) Lambe; and her parents-in-law, Michael and Adele Zaccardi.
