Sarah T. Vitale - Castellano

Sarah T. Vitale - Castellano of Highland Park died Thursday May 16th at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 87 years old. Born in Johnstown, Pa she lived in New Brunswick before moving to Highland Park 60 years ago.
Mrs. Castellano was employed as a school crossing guard for the Boro of Highland Park for 40 years retiring in 2006. She was also a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband Ralph Vitale in 1962 then her 2nd husband Martin Castellano in 2010 and 2 brothers Peter and Frank Rizzo. Surviving are 3 daughters, Clorinda Vitale of Pennsauken, NJ., Patricia Vitale of Highland Park, and Angelina and her husband Mark Tomline of Highland Park and a sister Gloria Landante of Highland Park. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 22nd at 10am from the Boylan Funeral Home, 10 Wooding Ave, in Edison followed by a 10:30 am mass at Transfiguration of the Land at St. Paul's Church in Highland Park. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday May 21st from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to: Downs Syndrome Assn. of Central N.J., 180 Ewingville Rd., Ewing NJ 08631.
