Born May 28, 1926 in New Brunswick, NJ, Bud spent his childhood and early teens in New Brunswick and North Brunswick. At the age of 17, Bud left high school to enlist in the U.S. Navy. He served during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was very proud to be in the U.S. Navy and of his military service.

After the war Bud went to trade school to study television repair. His education was on going as he attended countless seminars and classes to keep up with the technology as it advanced. Beginning after he completed trade school and ending at his retirement, Bud worked for several small NJ furniture and appliance stores, repairing televisions and the electronics of the day.

When Bud met Helene Hardy he knew it was the love of his life. They were engaged in February of 1949 and married in March of 1950. In October of 1953, Bud & Helene moved to Middlesex, NJ where they lived out their lives. Sixty-five years in total.

Over the course of 14 years Bud and Helene had six children. Bud enjoyed socializing with his neighbors and hobbies which included tropical, coy and goldfish, HO and N gauge model trains and building models of Navy ships. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and professional wrestling. He was active in, his son, Buddy's Boy Scout Troop and at one point became Scout Master of Middlesex's Troop 45.

In the mid to late eighties his family began to grow again, eventually expanding to include 8 grandchildren.

Bud was extremely patriotic. After he retired he became active in the American Legion, Post 306 in Middlesex, and the Middlesex VFW, Post 6988, where he served as Commander from 1997-1998. Middlesex's VFW merged with Dunellen's VFW, Post 5479, where he was a member until his passing.

Willard "Bud" was predeceased by his wife, Helene, of 62 years and his son, Keith. Bud is survived by four daughters, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Judy and husband Thomas of Middlesex, NJ, Carol and husband Les of Frisco, CO, Barbara of Harrisburg, PA, Patty and husband Wayne of South Plainfield, NJ, and Willard "Bud" Lowe and his wife Sayuri of Lake Villa, IL.
