Gerard Leo Courtemanche 78, of Spring Lake, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Scranton, PA, Gerard lived in Paramus, NJ until his retirement when he moved to Pt. Pleasant Beach, and most recently Spring Lake. Gerard worked at Ford Motor Company in Mahwah, NJ and at the Paramus Police Department. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Gerard was a communicant of St. Catharine's Church in Spring Lake. He loved nothing more than his family, dining out at Who's on Third, and holding afternoon court at Starbuck's. We will miss him so much.
Gerard was predeceased by his brother Regis Courtemanche. Surviving is his beloved wife of 60 years Ann Patricia Courtemanche; two sons, Gerard L. Courtemanche Jr. of Spring Lake, NJ, Lawrence G. Courtemanche of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; two daughters, Ann-Michele Sproviero and her husband Frank of Spring Lake Hts., Renee Celeste Goebeler of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; two sisters, Annette Kirk and Marie Hadiaris. He also leaves four grandchildren, Glen Austin Sproviero and his wife Kathleen, Evan Sproviero, Nicole Goebeler, and James Goebeler.
Visiting will be Wednesday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday, 9:30 am at St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake. Burial will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall.
