AGE: 88 • Eatontown

Andrew L. Bauer, 88, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Andrew was born in West New York, NJ and had lived in Eatontown since 1969. He graduated from St. Joseph's High School in West New York, NJ in 1942, he worked as a Regional Marketing Manager for Uniroyal all across the Eastern seaboard until retiring and he was an avid Yankees fan.

Andrew was very proud of his time serving our country in the Army, especially serving in World War II. Some of his recognized contributions were: Technician 4th Grade Assigned to the 135th Ordnance Medium Maintenance Company with the 3rd and 4th Army Inspection Team in the States. He also served in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Czechoslovakia with the 99th, 78th and 87th Infantry Divisions. Fought in the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, German Occupation Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Distinguished Service Medal, Thank You Certificate from the French Consulate and WWII Victory Medal.

Andrew is predeceased by his parents, Andrew John Bauer Jr. and Anna Josephine Elizabeth (Coen) Bauer, as well as his son, Andrew John Bauer. Surviving is his beloved wife and soul mate for the last 66 years, Antoinette (DeGennaro) Bauer; his son and daughter-in-law, Vincent Joseph and Bonnie Jean Bauer and her extended family; his daughter, Joanne Marie Bauer and his son and daughter-in-law, Robert Andrew and Linda Marie Bauer. He will also be deeply missed by the lights of his life; his three grandchildren also survive him: Robert Andrew Bauer Jr., Rebecca Marianne Bauer and Angelica Marie Bauer.
