Ralph Berardi Obituary
AGE: 72 • Brick
Ralph Berardi, 72 of Brick passed away Monday January 30 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick with his family by his side. Ralph was born in Bari, Italy and moved to the United States at the age of 14 and resided on Staten Island. He opened his first pizzeria called Berardi's Pizza in the Port Richmond section of Staten Island and then Pizza Kingdom in the Eltingville section of Staten Island. Ralph moved to Wall Township in 1976 along with his family. He then opened Berardi's Pizza in Neptune and also LaScalas Pizza in Long Branch. Ralph loved to watch and play soccer; he was an accomplished chef who enjoyed cooking for his family. Ralph had a unique quality of never holding a grudge against anyone and was known for his "Heart of Gold". He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren. Ralph never missed attending any of his grandchildren's games.
Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Mary (nee Hillock) Berardi of Brick; his loving three daughters and their spouses Margaret and John Violanzis of Wall, Lee and William Parella of Wall and Mary and Kirk Engelken of Brick; eight cherished grandchildren Alexander, Mary, Ava, Thomas, Jack, Blake, Nikolas and Christian. Ralph is also survived by his four siblings Louis (Maryann) Berardi of Neptune, Enza (Orazio) Melluso of Staten Island, NY, Msgr. Fred Berardi of Rome Italy and Rita (Joseph) Lombardo of Staten Island, NY.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday February 1, 2016 from 4-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday Fenruary 2, 2017 10 am at ST. Rose Churc , Belmar. Entombment will follow at St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall. This is Joe Roberto. I found out yesterday August 2, 2017 that Ralph passed away. If you family members remember I worked for Ralph in the early 70's. Although I havn't seen ralph since his brother Vito passed I always fet a warm spot in my heart for him. Remenising about the good old days . I would really like to hear from one of the Berardi's. PS. I met Vito's son Vinny a few years back (although I remember when he was born) when he played in a band for Light Of Day. E-Mail [email protected]
