Joseph J. Forbes
Manville - Joseph J. Forbes, 77, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at home. He was born in Coal Township, Pennsylvania the son of the late Jerome and Irene Forbes. Mr. Forbes was a resident of Manville, NJ for the past 50 years. He served his Country Honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the Destroyer USS Robert K. Huntington. Mr. Forbes worked in the maintenance department of the M. A. Hanna Corporation in Somerset, NJ for many years before retiring. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Forbes was a member of the Manville Quarterback Club and coached softball for both Manville and Raritan. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Forbes was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (Christ the Redeemer Parish) in Manville, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife Doris Forbes in 2014. He is survived by his son Kevin J. Forbes and his wife Cheryl of Hillsborough, NJ and by his daughter Valerie Vincent and her husband Scott of Middlesex, NJ and by a sister Cheryl Marciniak and her husband Bob of Trevorton, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Eddie and his wife Jordan, Dylan, Samantha and Dominick and by his great-granddaughter Charlotte. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Ketusky Funeral Home. The Funeral will be on Saturday, February 10, 2018 with a 9:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Manville, NJ. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to: Manville First Aid and Rescue Squad, 2 South 3rd Ave., Manville, NJ 08835.

To the Forbes Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Joe and I worked for together for many years when it was known as Polyone or before that as PMS Consolidated. We always talked about hunting, fishing along with cars, PA and the Navy since I too was in the Navy. I know he and his wife are missed.

Your dad and grandfather was such a nice man. He always seem to have a smile on his face any time that I seen him. He is now with your mom again. He will be missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you guys very much.
