Madeline Mackin Obituary
Monroe, North Carolina - Madeline Mackin age 87, of Monroe North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at the Novant Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina surrounded by her loved ones. Born in East Orange she raised a family of six children in Toms River, New Jersey. She then spent her retirement years in Berkeley Township, New Jersey with her beloved husband Patrick Mackin. Madeline served as a dedicated long-term employee of Sear's and Roebuck Company. She was a contributing member of the Rosary Alter Society, The Catholic Youth Organization, and was a groundbreaking fundraiser and volunteer at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. She was a avid Mah-jongg player, a culinary connoisseur, and had a keen passion for reading. Above all she loved to travel the world with her husband sampling the worlds finest margheritas and dancing the night away.
She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Mackin, her son, Patrick J. Mackin, her son-in-law, Steven Knott. Surviving are her children Colleen Knott, Charlotte, NC; Catherine Fuller and her husband John, Manchester, NJ; Daniel Mackin and his wife LuAnn, Manchester, NJ; Thomas Mackin and his wife Maria, Randolph, NJ and Madeline Braden and her husband Scott, Monroe, NC. She is also survived beloved grandchildren: Nicole and her husband Rob, Jennifer, Jason, Daniel and his wife Lauren, Aaron and his wife Jillian, Matthew and his wife Jaclyn, Christine and her fiancé Maurice, Valerie and her Fiancé Scott, Scott, Kerri and her partner Kaitlyn and Victoria and her partner Zackary, as well as her great grandchildren: Damonn, Avery, Irie, Truman, Brady, Patrick, Karalena, Jonathan, Reese, Finley, Madison, Hazel and Fiona.
Visitation will be on Monday from 3p-7p at the Family-Owned Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 10am at St. Maximillian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River. Burial will follow at the NJ Veteran's Cemetery, Arneytown. Donations can be made to Saint Jude's Research Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children in Madeline's name. Condolences can be sent to:www.carmonabolenfh.com
