I moved away from Huntington in 2012. I was talking about Dr. Durst the other day, specifically about how outstanding he was as a teacher and also his kindness. Then I remembered his health issues. I googled his name, and am so sorry to hear that he passed. My condolences to his loved ones. I am so thankful that I had him as a professor and mentor. Anyone that was lucky enough to know Dr. Durst is a better person because of him. He was a gift to this world, and the world is a lesser place without him. However, his passion for medicine, his love for others, and the brightness that emanated from him will continue to live through all of those that knew him.

I just learned of Dr. Durst's passing a few days ago! I am so sorry for the families loss! What a great man. I worked with him for many years and I never once heard him say a bad thing about anyone. I don't ever think he had a bad day, even when he wasn't feeling well! Always gracious to everyone! What a sad loss for those of us here to mourn his passing, but what a joyous day for him in heaven!

It was a pleasure to have known Paul...I was the Director of Laboratories at Pleasant Valley Hospital when Paul was a pathology resident...We often spoke about his roots, Paul having been from the Gallipolis/Point Pleasant area...He was always so respectful towards me and showed his genuineness...He left us too soon
