Elizabeth L. ("Betsy") Gibbs died of ALS in Maryland on Jan. 21, 2017. She was 70.
Betsy was born in 1946 to father Thomas Larson and mother Claire. She grew up in Severna Park, along with her older sister Judy, twin brother Brad and younger brother Jim.
Betsy went to West Chester College for her undergraduate degree and Peabody College for her Master's in Special Education.

Betsy and Martin were sailors, pilots and HAM radio operators. Betsy became an avid weaver after Martin's death in 2005, as well as an active member of the Military Radio Auxiliary System (motto: "proudly serving those who serve").
