Geraldine "Geri" Ryan, 98, of Jacksonville died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at Heritage Health.

She was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Cooperstown, the daughter of Joseph and Gladys Avery Logsdon. She was married to Joy Ryan and he preceded her in death.

She was known as Aunt Dean by many nieces and nephews, including John (Donna) Carl of White Hall, Deborah Hymes of Jacksonville and Brian (Betty) Carl of Milton; and great-nieces and great-nephew, Kerry (Eric) Keith of Edwardsville, Chantay (Kyle) Betts of Edwardsville and John "Jake" (Cassy) Carl of Winchester. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maurine H. Carl and Josephine Demeree.

Mrs. Ryan was employed for many years as a seamstress at J. Capps and Sons. She then became a caregiver for Visiting Nurses Association in Jacksonville. She was a member of Church of Our Saviour, Catholic Daughters of America, and Altar & Rosary Society. She also volunteered with the Jacksonville Theatre Guild, making costumes.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville, with burial at Calvary Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, prior to the service, at the church. Memorials are suggested to Church of Our Saviour.
