Robert E. "Bob" Gordley (1937 - 2013)

Robert E. "Bob" Gordley, 75, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Chambersburg, the son of Cleo and Margaret Irving Gordley. Robert married Barbara Hannant on June 4, 1955, in Chambersburg. She survives in Jacksonville.

Also surviving are three children, James Edward Gordley, William Kim (wife, Theresa) Gordley and Joy Ann (husband, Kenneth) Turner, all of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Ray and Barbara Turner and Ryan, Erin, Payton, Josh and Rod Gordley; one great-grandchild, Kelly Turner; two brothers, William Gordley of Jacksonville, Jerry (wife, Louise) Gordley of Chambersburg; and one sister, Betty Perry of Dunbar, Wis. One brother, James Gordley, preceded Robert in death.

Robert was employed as a foreman at Mobil Chemical in Jacksonville before his retirement in 1992. He was an active member of the First Christian Church, Masonic Lodge of Perry, Zingabad Grotto of Jacksonville and Moose Lodge of Jacksonville. Robert enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, wintering in Texas and attending his grandchildren's ball games. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Daws Family Funeral Home in South Jacksonville. Visitation will be Thursday after 2 p.m. with the family meeting friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
