ROODHOUSE - Steven Field Kelley, 53, of Roodhouse passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 5, 1961, in Jacksonville, the son of Maurice and Carole Airsman Kelley.

Steve is survived by his mother, Carole Kelley of Roodhouse; one sister, Tracy (husband, Steve) Moulton of Jacksonville; one brother, Matt (wife, Suzanne) Kelley of Washington; and his nieces and nephew, Megan Kelley, Drew Kelley and Maurissa Moulton, all of whom he was very fond. Steve's father, Maurice Kelley, preceded him in death.

Steve was a 1979 graduate of North Greene High School. He graduated from Lewis and Clark Community College with an associate degree in dental technology. He later graduated cum laude from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in community health. Steve was an employee of DOT Foods in Mount Sterling until his illness.

Steve was a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed collecting their memorabilia. One of his greatest pleasures was enjoying the times when his family would gather, especially around the holidays.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Fernwood Cemetery in Roodhouse. The family will meet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse.
