My little Chihuahua, Marcee, and I loved our visits with Jim over the years. Always loved his style and his smile and his wonderful sense of humour. He wanted to take Marcee with him to hunt moose--he said she would scare the moose his way BIG TIME. Bernice was a constant support for Jim and that just added to his endearing qualities. Jim will be missed by anyone who knew him. He modelled how one should live with one's afflictions and how living to a ripe old age can have its rewards, too! Well done Jim. Marcee and I will NEVER forget your sparkling qualities.

We first met Jim in March 1992 at the Hawthorne Sugar Bush where he and his colleagues were conducting a maple syrup demonstration. I remember approaching one of the staff working to ask if Jim Jacobs happened to be there. When the staff member asked, "What do you want him for?", we quickly explained we had recently spoken with Jim on the phone to order firewood and simply wished to introduce ourselves. With a sly grin and twinkle in his eye, the gentleman stuck out his hand, "I'm Jim Jacobs. Pleased to meet you."

One of our all-time favourite introductions!

Thinking of you all and sending our love.
