Thomas 'Curry' Roberts Funeral services for Thomas "Curry" Roberts, 29, of Lubbock, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2006, in First Baptist Church of Plainview with pastor Paul Cypert of Harvest Christian Fellowship officiating, assisted by Dr. Travis Hart, pastor of First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Roberts died Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Lubbock. He was born June 28, 1976, in Plainview to Randall and Ruthie Roberts. He graduated from Plainview High School and attended Austin Community College and Texas Tech where he was a senior studio art major. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. A former Scout, he was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include a daughter, Sky Meredith Roberts of Tacoma, Wash.; his parents, Randall and Ruthie Roberts of Plainview; two sisters, Jessica Ann Roberts of Austin and Rachel Victoria Roberts of Plainview; and paternal grandparents, J.B. and Ramona Roberts of Plainview. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas Thurman Smith and Ethel Crow Smith; and his great-grandparents, Sam and Faye Curry and Jess and Orene Roberts. Pallbearers will be Brian Watts, Chris Canon, Ed Patrick, Cody Lindeman, John Cunningham and Stu McWilliams. Honorary pallbearers will be Ramey Kimbrough, Craig Cummings, Clay Francis, Trevor Walker, Tabor Francis, Jay London, Andy Harder, Jordan Harder, Chris Gouldy, Heath May, Jamie Fitzgerald, Brad Martin and Zach Gibson. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Thomas Curry Roberts to The College of Visual and Performing Arts, Texas Tech University, Box 1081, Lubbock, TX 79409.
