Irvin "Irv" R. Dohner

Irvin R. Dohner completed his earthly journey on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the age of 86. He is survived by the love of his life for 60 years, June L. Dohner. He was the son of Irving and Violet Dohner and had a brother, Bob and wife Carole all deceased.
His family included his son Todd and wife, Teresa and daughter Melissa Brown and husband Dr. Don Brown. Granddaughter Alison LeBlanc and husband US Marine Gunnery Sergeant Roland LeBlanc and great-granddaughter June Louise LeBlanc. He has two grandsons, Dr. Adam Brown and wife Sarah and Kenneth and wife Beth and their children, Harper, Stratton, Lawson, and Carter.
Irv, or better known as "Mr. D" was a deacon in the Lutheran Church for over 60 years. He served churches as Director of Music and Christian Education. The churches he served were: Spies Lutheran Church of Reading, PA; Nativity Lutheran Church of Reading, PA; Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Gastonia, NC; St. James Lutheran Church of Concord, NC; St. Philip Lutheran Church of Myrtle Beach, SC; Resurrection Episcopal Church of Surfside Beach, SC; Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church of Garden City, SC; and Good Shepherd Orthodox Anglican Church of Myrtle Beach, SC.
A service of Celebration will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Philip Lutheran Church of Myrtle Beach with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Philip Lutheran Church, 6200 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.
Inurnment will be at St. Peters Lutheran Church of Pawleys Island at a later date.
