Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - Larry Young, 79, was granted his angel's wings on Feb 24th, 2021, with his family by his side in his Myrtle Beach home. Larry was a visionary and pioneer of golf for the greater Myrtle Beach area. Millions of golfers all over the world have been able to share wonderful memories of his golf creations. He had an unyielding energy and imagination in business and hunger for the next project but most important in his life was his family. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Young is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years Judy Young and his loving sons Danny Young (Lisa) and Kyle Young (Jackie). He was also the proud grandfather of Trey (Meghan), Callie (Justin), Carson (Allston), Madeline and Isabella. And great-grandfather of Quade, Caroline Young, Jack, Ava Hunter, Nolan Bowden, Wren Parker and Maggie-Rose Lumpkin. He is also survived by his siblings Eric Young, Jean Gray and Lyn Young (Lee) and a host of longtime friends from around the world. I had the honor and privilege of knowing Larry and Judy young as my late husband, Jeff, was employed at both the Heritage club and Oyster Bay. Larry was definitely a pioneer in the golf business along the grand strand and Jeff was always so proud to be working for Larry. I am forever grateful to both Larry and Judy for all of their love and support during those years. It was because of them that Jeff was a success in the golfing business. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Young family.

Thank you Larry and the entire Young family for their vision and opportunities provided in the golf industry over so many years. The Heritage was my first property to be employed at in 1987. It was so removed from northern Ohio. I loved every day. It was not work. I think Larry saw this in me . I liked him. If you love what you do it's really not work. Just leaving home for a while. You set a standard. Good luck to all that fallow.

To the Young Family,
It should not surprise you when I express to you how your dad has touched my life. He was always encouraging, offered valuable knowledge about the golf industry and business and above all else a friend when you just need to talk. Our Lord has called him to his Kingdom to enhance the most beautiful golf courses the greatest will ever see. Although he will be missed by all here on earth his memories will fill the void we feel. May you always reflect on these priceless memories you shared with him and May he Rest In Peace. Godspeed to your family.
