Gerard Tempest Obituary
He was known as the father of Abstract Spiritualism and the protege of Giorgio de Chirico, the forerunner of Surrealism. For more details please visit www.GerardTempest.com.
He is survived his beloved wife, Margaret, of 63 years; and by his two sons, Gerard ''Roddy'' F. Tempest Jr., his first son, and his wife, Connie Tempest, and their son, Gerard ''Gabriel'' F. Tempest III and daughter, Caroline Tempest; and by his second son, Husidio John Tempest and his wife, Anne Tempest, and their children, Noralee, Austin and Chelsea Kreiger.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2009 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, Durham, N.C., and a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009 in the Olivia Presbyterian Church, Olivia, N.C.
Memorial services will be held in Myrtle Beach at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gerard Tempest's name to the Durham Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 11858, Durham, NC 27703.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Tempest, I am a great fan of his work. Margaret my prayers go with you an your family. I feel so blessed to have known Margaret and Gerard Tempest, and acquired a piece of his art work that survived Hurricane Katrina and hangs proudly in my home. Thank You & God bless you
