Michael E. Ambrose, 72, of Marseilles, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his home.

Visitation with social distancing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday January 11 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Marseilles with Rev. Troy Tvrdik officiating.

He was born on August 13, 1948, in Pekin, to Eugene and Elizabeth (Miller) Ambrose. In 1987, he married Janet Biastock of Benton Harbor, MI.

Mike was a member of First Baptist Church in Marseilles. He was employed by Caterpillar and ComEd-Exelon until his retirement. He enjoyed camping and bike riding, and he loved to read. He had a talent for woodworking. He also worked at Farm & Fleet and volunteered for Morris Hospital patient transportation.

He is survived by his wife, Jan; two sons, Jonathan D. "J.D." of Marseilles and Timothy (Sarah) Ambrose of CO; one grandchild, Alexis; one sister, Kathy (Patrick) Pearcy of Charleston, SC; his mother-in-law, Betty Biastock; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a father-in-law, DaWayne Biastock.

Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Marseilles or the Marseilles Public Library.
