Not sure what to say?

Dear Mavis and family -I am so sorry to hear of your loss - I know Larry cared deeply about his family - I also remember him as a fine mentor - as a teacher, principal, creator and leader - so many benefitted from his light. He is in our hearts.

Mavis and family; My condolences on the passing of Larry. We would have attended the funeral but unfortunately I just found out. I still remember the ski trips we took together and the discussions my dad and Larry had. Take care; Joe and Arlene Coquet, and family (Saskatoon, Sask.)

Dear Mavis and family We are so saddened to hear of Larry's
recent passing. Although we hadn't been in touch in recent years, we will always have fond memories of our time together
in Beechy. It was so nice to see you both a few years ago at one of his book readings. He was a very talented writer and we
thoroughly enjoyed reading a number of his books.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family.
Sincerely, Glenn and Lois Wagner. Saskatoon

Mavis and family, condolences on the loss of Larry. He provided our family a great gift with his hard work in creating Red Finns of the Coteau as that was our region. I was pleased to write a long review of the book for The Finnish American Reporter and send a copy to Larry. All the best in this time of sorrow. Merle Niemi Kindred - daughter of the late Neil J. Niemi & Elvie Koivisto Niemi.

It is with sadness that we learned of Larry's passing. His good works will be carried on by his many students and, of course, his family. Many fine memories of growing up in the village of Glenavon.

Dear Mavis and Family of Larry - I have a deep respect for Larry and what he contributed to Canada. He is certainly one of the most important Ukrainian Canadian authors. His books and words were so beautiful and honouring of those who are here as the first people of Canada and the hardships of those who came to settle. Larry was like a prairie storm - great force and capacity to challenge and confront and afterwards the quietness and stillness to think about what has really happened to all...
