Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home - Sebring Obituary

Barbara J. Church, 81, passed away on July 19, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Langdon Church and Annalpha Higgins. She was born in Flint, MI on December 16, 1938. Barbara had been a resident of Sebring, Florida for 17 years, formerly living in Boynton Beach, FL. Barbara worked as a Title Clerk in a car dealership. Barb lived a very simple life in this world, taking little, yet giving so much to those that she cared about. Genuine, kind, compassionate, combined with her feisty spirit all made her the special person we knew and loved. The Miami Dolphins were her passion and she was a loyal fan for many years. Barb enjoyed her puzzles, playing cards with good friends, and was always up for an occasional trip to the casino to try and beat those odds! The Boynton Beach Inlet was Barb’s favorite place in this whole wide-world. Every visit brought her peace, comfort and joy as she watched the boats come and go, navigating the uncertain waters, and observing the fishing charters as they came in with their daily catch. Barb also navigated uncertain waters with her life, she faced all challenges gracefully, without want, and always with a gracious smile. She will truly be missed!

Barbara is survived by her brothers – James, Ronald, Gerald and Kenneth Church; sisters – Sherry Lynn Church, Shirley Jeffrey and Ethel Bukosky. She was preceded in death by her parents.
