Downs Funeral Home - Marshall Obituary

Gerald Wayne Roach, 56, of Marshall, Texas departed from this life on August 9, 2019 at Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center of Longview, TX. Gerald was born in 1962 to Jimmy Claude Roach and Darline Taylor Roach. He attended and graduated from the Marshall High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Theresa Williams, whom he later married.

Gerald had always been a hard worker and had long-standing employment with Tyson Foods and General Cable. He took good care of his wife and children and always enjoyed big family gatherings and cookouts with his siblings, nieces, nephews, and family friends. He loved and adored his grandchildren, and to them, he was the best “Paw Paw” in the world.

Gerald grew up a member of the Center Hill Freewill Baptist Church, and upon hearing the gospel, rendered obedience and became a member at the Southside Church of Christ and served there for a number of years before finally placing membership with Westside Church of Christ where he served for the remainder of his days.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Theresa Roach, his children, Taurice Roach, Candice Starling (Brandon Starling), Jerrod Roach, and Tyron Roach (LaMeshia), his grandchildren, Rheygan, Faith, Kaci, Isaiah, Landen, Ezekiel, Eve, and Kendron II, his siblings, Willie Roach (Loretta), Edward Charles Roach, Laywon Roach, Lynn Roach (Wanda), Larry Roach (Cheryl), Stacy Roach, Erwin Roach (Yulanda), Jimmie Marie, Nay Dean Roach, Nettie Roach, Mendy Ford (Thomas), Traci Sneed, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
