Addie "Blanche" Hill transitioned to be with the Lord on November 3, 2018, at Southside Regional Medical Center. Blanche was born on November 12,1942, in Stony Creek, VA, to the Late John D and Savannah L. Reed. Blanche would want you to know that she lived a good and fun filled life.
Blanche Joined the Galilee Baptist Church of Stony Creek, VA, at a very early age and enjoyed worshipping the Lord. She had a passion for cooking, hairstyling and helping people.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt "Billy" Winfield. From that union, they had their only daughter, Phyllis Williams Smallwood. Years after her husband's passing, Blanche united with Robert Hill Jr. and had a long and loving union for over 52 years.
At an early age, blanche always had a hardworking spirit and most times seemed to enjoy working. Because of her many passions and skills, she chose to enter entrepreneurship. She attained her food safety certification and Beautician License prior to starting her business ventures. She owned and operated B & P Beauty Salon for over 35 years and the Tastee Hut for over 28 years. Blanche enjoyed many hobbies in her spare time including cooking, manicuring her yard, singing in the Stony Creek Combined Gospel Chorus, and most of all spending quality time with her loved ones. She shared a special compassion with everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by a host of brothers, sisters, step brothers, step sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted and loving daughter, Phyllis Smallwood of Disputanta, VA; her grandson, who was the apple of her eye, Clayton Jamal Williams (Alysia) of Toano, VA; and her precious great-granddaughter, Teagan Auria Williams. Also left to cherish her memory are her devoted brother, Jimmy R. Reed (Frances); step brother, Joseph Massenburg; brothers-in-law, Charlie G. Shine, Sam Taylor; two aunts, Annie Harper and Catherine Reed; one uncle, Norman Mason (Juliet) and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Blanche had many special people in her life who encouraged her to continue enjoying life: Jimmy & Frances, Lewis Claud, Cherry Ruffin, Sheila Gurley, Charlie Shine Jr., Catherine Cole, Ruth Hill, Rosalind Sheppard, Louise Givens, Clayton Williams, Joe & Elaine Dillard and Clarence Parham.
Blanche was like a mother to many and a great friend to many and the Tastee Hut employees had always had a special place in her heart.
Funeral service for Ms. Hill will be 11:00am Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Galilee Baptist Church, 12392 Lee Avenue Stony Creek, VA, Rev. Linwood James Sr., eulogist.

My Condolences to Phyllis and Family. I am truly at lost for words. A few weeks ago Blanche and I as usual was cutting up in the doctor's office and I chose to let that be my final memory of her. She was a great lady I remember being a little girl going to my uncle store and just had to get a hairdo from Mrs. Blanche to the most recent conversation with us acting up. Everytime we talked it was always a pleasure.
RIP my friend gone too soon and will be truly missed.

To Phyliss, Jimmy and the family of Blanche may you find comfort in the arms of God at this time of lost. I remember Blanche picking me up and taking me to the hair salon every two weeks where she worked in Petersburg. I was so happy being a young girl I always knew she would give me a cute hair style. She was so nice to me this was something she wanted to do because she had a kind heart. I never forgot and I still appreciate it. May God Bless you all and always cherish the memories of her.

My condolences to her daughter and other family members, she was always so sweet to me, every time i saw her she always gave me the biggest hug, and whisper in my ear that everything is going to be alright, I'm going to miss those hugs.
