Lawrence Eldean Moore, age 90 formerly of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his home in Mooresville, N.C. He was born on July 25, 1930, the son of the late John Robert Moore and Mary Magdaline Spencer Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Miller, sisters, Pat Hall, Esther Clement and a brother, Chester Moore. He was a member of Orchard Drive Baptist Church. He retired from Dupont after 35 years.
Eldean leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Mignon Shelton Moore, sons, Timothy Moore (Ginger), Thomas Moore (Sheila), and Dmetri Moore, brothers, Frank and Michael Moore, sisters, Mary June Martin, Donna Cooper, Violet Owens and Joy Ruoss. 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Eldean's memory to be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, N.C. 28625 or Orchard Drive Baptist Church, 228 Orchard Drive Road, Bassett, Virginia 24055. Due to Covid-19, wearing of Mask and social distancing will be required.
