Nell Austin Obituary

AUSTIN, Nell (Jernigan)

82, a native of Brooksville, went to her heavenly home Monday, December 24, 2018. She worked as a legal secretary for Johnston and Sasser for 15 years. Nell was the daughter of the late Jay P. and Mary Snow Jernigan. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Austin; brothers, J.P. and J.M. Jernigan and sister, Leona J. Sellers. She is survived by her loving children, June Dail Austin, and Phillip Brian (Bonnie) Austin; sisters, Charlotte J. Hypes, Patricia J. McQuaig (William); brother, Mallory F. (Pat) Jernigan; grandchildren, Tyler and Hunter Austin, Valerie Pruc, Melinda Cooper; and great grandchildren, Hailey Rose Fowler, Noah Michael Cooper and Asher Gideon Austin. Visitation for friends will be Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6-8 pm at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Brooksville. Burial will follow at the Lake Lindsey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arnold Palmer Hospital Medical Center Foundation, 3160 South Gate Commerce, Orlando, FL 32806.
