Adele WILBUR Obituary

WILBUR, Adele Afram
Adele Afram Wilbur, 76, of Mountain City, Texas passed away March 21, 2016 in the company of her loving husband, Philip Eugene Wilbur and son, Steven Wilbur and wife, Melissa.

Adele was born September 6, 1939 to Jabra and Martha Afram in Bethlehem, in what was then British Mandate Palestine. Adele was a citizen of the world, living in many of history's most storied cities before becoming an American citizen, loving wife, and caring mother.

Her intelligence, strength of character, and selflessness will long outlive her in her art, her students, and her grateful friends and family.

A Celebration of Adele's Life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 25, 2016, in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made in Adele's memory to the American Red Cross.

What a loss but what an honor to have known her. Steve, I was your 7th grade language arts teacher which was another bright moment in my career. You mom kept me going--such a great sense of humor and such an elegant lady. Both of you are treasures in my memory.

Although we knew Adele and Phil only through meeting them at West Oaks, we feel privileged to have known both of you. Phil, may God grant you peace in the passing of your lovely wife. You and your son and daughter-in-law will have wonderful memories of Adele to share, and hopefully this will bring you peace until you meet her again. Our thoughts are with all of you.

I am deeply, deeply saddened to hear of Adele's passing. There are so many wonderful memories of the Mountain City years. I still think of her lemon bars - to this day the best I ever tasted. She was such a wonderful person and dear friend. I am blessed to have had her in my life. To Phil, Steven, and Steven's lovely wife, we send our love and heartfelt sympathy.

A blessing in disguise.... I feel so blessed to have had Mrs.Wilbur come across my pathway of life. She shared her wisdom of matrimony, motherhood, friendship, and Christ in the short time we knew each other. I remember sitting outside ..the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the white clouds filled the sky. We looked up and I asked ...Do you believe in heaven? With no hesitation she nodded yes ☺ and even in her spirit she didn't forget my question cause she came to me in dream Monday night to show me she was in heaven.... I thought she was going up as I waved goodbye but it was me coming down . I send my condolences to all of her family she will truly be missed.

We've made and lost many friends during our mother's stay at West Oaks, but none more lovely and precious as Adele. Phil, my heartfelt sympathy is extended for you, your son and daughter in-law. Adele is surely watching over you now with no more pain. I pray that the wonderful memories you have of her will sustain you during this time.

I remember the warm hospitality of your home and disarming smile. Isn't it wonderful that those who live in the Lord Jesus never see other for the last time. Till we meet a the feet of Jesus,
