Obituary

Agnes Theresa Hicks transitioned peacefully into eternal rest at home on Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Charlotte Hall, MD. She was born on March 25, 1964 to Charles William Hicks and to the late Alice Cecilia Hicks.
Agnes was educated in the Charles County Public Schools System, graduating from La Plata High School. She was employed at SagePoint Senior Living Services in La Plata, MD as a dietary aide for many years. She was a dedicated and hardworking employee who loved her job. Agnes would treat the residence as if they were her own family member. Agnes was kind hearted and had a giving soul. She would go above and beyond for those who she came in contact with. She always put others before herself, regardless of what she was going through. Agnes was a loving person who was always there when you needed her. She would greet everyone with a hug and a smile…Agnes knew everybody!
Agnes enjoyed spending time with family and friends; especially her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother who put her children before herself or anyone. She enjoyed several types of events such as cookouts, weddings, and family get-togethers and more. She liked dancing and listening to music. Agnes was an affectionate caregiver. You would always find her babysitting or helping others with whatever they needed. She LOVED cooking. She was always in the kitchen either cooking for herself or for family and friends.
Agnes was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Cecilia Hicks; her sister, Dorothy Hicks-Royal (Alvin) and her brother, Lewis Cole.
She leaves to cherish loving memories her father, Charles William Hicks; her second mother, Alice Tolson; her four children; Renetta Lynn Baker, Marisa Pearl Chisley, Shanice Lajoy Chisley and her only son, Davon Rashawn Chisley; her three sisters, Gladys Hicks-Jones (Robert), Margaret Hicks-Holton (Quentin), Rachael Hicks; her brother, Larry Hicks; seven grandchildren, Charnay, Kamari, Sai’Mya, Zayden, Za’Khi, Kaiden and Journee; the father of her children, William Thomas Chisley and her very close friend, MaryAnn Farmer and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will unite on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 for visitation at 10 am until Christian Burial Service at 11 am at St. Mary's Newport Catholic Church, 11555 St. Mary's Church Rd, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will be private.
