A great human been, a great professor that left a tread in all his disciples and fomented independence with his teaching. A man of character, firm personality always congruent with ethics, moral, verb, and action. A fantastic surgeon. All my my family misses him very much and I will be forever grateful for his teachings and his friendship. We share wonderful moments with him, that was a great honor for us, and his visit to Costa Rica was a great learning experience to every one that came in...

He was my profesor in Missouri and visited Costa Rica in 1979. A great human being, fantastic surgeon and teacher. Very high cultural level. Left a tread in every discipule. We will miss him very much. Always gratefull and forever will be in my memory.

I knew Dr. and Mrs. Hopeman because of my parents, Dr. and Mrs. Peisel. They served in the Army together. When I moved to Denver, many years later, I called them at my parents suggestion, to say'hi' and was immediately asked to Thanksgiving Dinner the next day even though I had never met them before. The most gracious of people, I will never forget their warmth and charm. I stayed in Denver, got married and then when my son took an interest in the Japanese language and Native American...
