Not sure what to say?

I graduated high school with Alan. He was truly talented in music. He will be missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Payne family. God bless all of you.

I was Alan's second grade teacher at Hillcrest Elementary School. He was such a dear student who was a joy to teach. I remember his beautiful smile that he would bring to class each day. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.

A friend of the Payne family for many years and lucky enough to attend school with Alan. He was truly a talented musician and all around great guy. Alan will truly be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

I attended school with Alan all the way from Hillcrest to Williams, he was a great guy and will be truly missed! The Payne family are in my prayers!

This is such a sad time for his wife, family, students and staff at NIMS and NIHS. My son is in the 6th grade trumpet class and he thought the world of Mr. Payne. He said "Mr. Payne was the greatest teacher ever and always knew how to make you feel better if you were down" This is a man that will be missed for years to come.

My heart goes out to all that are suffering this loss. Mr. Payne came into my family's life 4 years ago when my Daughter started playing the Flute, Mr. Payne encouraged and inspired her so much that she went on to play the Flute in the Marching Band at NIHS and is planning to play the Drums as well this Fall. I was planning to pick on him when I got the chance. She plans for Music to be a part of her future in College and in her Career in some way. We always loved attending the Band...

Mr. Payne was/is my band teacher at NIMS and was a very close friend for the short time that I had known him. He was always so happy, joyful, and caring. He taught me that while I do some sports it's also cool to do band. he will always be loved and remembered. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Love and miss you brother! You will be missed dearly!
