Not sure what to say?

I did not know Alan well, but the few times I was fortunate enough to be at the same conference or meeting with him, I always came away with a new idea, and new enthusiasm for being in the business we were both part of. He is gone too soon, but he has been welcomed to another realm where his smarts, his spirit and his goodness will be celebrated.

To Alan's Loved Ones,
I was on vacation in Greece when I received the sad news. I am very sorry for your loss. I spent many days over these last 2 weeks remembering Alan. He was a brilliant mind, and an honest business man in an industry where many are not. I first met Alan at the catalog conferences while he was at Crutchfield, but recently decided to test the RKG for my business's search needs. I normally do search on my company's behalf, but Alan and Larry Becker were the only men I...

To the Rimm-Kaufman family,
I just learned of Alan's passing and send my heartfelt condolences. He was a pleasure to work with, made great contributions to his industry and will be very missed.

Sara, Sam and Davida -
I'm so very sorry for your loss. It was a pleasure and honor to know and work with Alan while he was at Crutchfield. What a brilliant mind and bright, vibrant spirit. May you find peace in your many wonderful memories of him - my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Essie, Sara, And Entire Family,
May your happy memories carry you through this most sorrowful time in your lives.
Alan was truly a unique person. He was not only brilliant
but also had a great personality, with a wonderful sense of humor!
We fondly remember his joy and and dancing back down the isle at the conclusion of his wedding ceremony.
Our thoughts and love are with you.

I knew Alan from many conferences and was always impressed by his enthusiasm for his work, his incredible knowledge, and his willingness to help others. I also knew from my brother who knew Alan in Earlysville that Alan had a wonderful family. I am so sorry for your loss. It is really tragic to lose someone this early in life (and so hard to understand).
