Jonathan Rumbold and Alan Coogan, co-writers of 'An ode to Albert Finney'

I have written a song in honour of Albert Finney. Here is a verse that speaks of the strength of his principles and refusal of a knighthood in England. I feel the words honour his memory.

'From the soil of the North I was weaned and I grew. Like granite and coal, unyielding and true. I've watched a disease eat the heart of our land, snobbery turning good to bad. On its lusts we have drunk we stagger and fall. One apple gone bad will ruin us all...'

May Albert's family find some comfort in these loving messages. He was an actor who played a myraid of unforgetable roles. One of the best talents in the entertainment industry. Mary M.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

One of the world's best actor has left the stage too soon. Mr. Finney was outstanding in every role he performed. He should have been recognized for his unique talents with many awards. He didn't care if he received such awards, but his admirers did. He won the hearts of his fans. JA

Our sincere condolences to the family. May the God of tender mercies and all comfort be with you all during this difficult time.
