Not sure what to say?

I just heard about the Mr. Pritchett's passing from my brother Tim Litz. As soon as he mentioned Albert I remebered the kind and patient gentleman who picked us up for HRA, without judgemental looks when we were late. Our warm sympathy to his family. It was an honor to know a member of the Black Panthers and thank him for his amazing time in the service. Affectionately, Jeannie Litz '65

Albert Fitchett was a gentleman, and showed the HRA community what it is to walk out one's faith day by day. Albert lived his faith by investing his life into those around him, encouraging them and building them up. He was a tremendous blessing to me and all my fellow students. I pray the Lord's comfort for his family at their loss. —Christopher Smith, Class of 1981

I first met Mr. Fitchett in 1961 as a new 9th grader. Later, Roger Dick '65 and I worked under his direction doing landscaping work for the school in the summer of 1964. When we make a mistake, he was patient; he also had a terrific sense of humor.
We asked about his ability to fix just about anything including the '46 Ford & early 50's Chevy and REO buses. He told us a few stories from his Army experiences but I had no idea how much of a contribution he had made.
His patient and...

We are saddened by the loss of Mr. Fitchett. He was a good friend to our family. My father enjoyed their 18 years together at HRA and regretted not being able to attend the funeral due to poor health. We send our sincerest regrets to the family. - Col. David Dick, Roger (‘65) and Denise Dick

I first met Albert the day the bright yellow bus pulled up to pick me up on my first day at HRA in 1967. I got to know Albert well in my 5 years at Hampton Roads and I look back on his quiet wisdom and unassuming presence in every aspect of my HRA experience with great fondness. I have thought of Albert frequently in the intervening years, and I will miss him. The Fitchett family has my heartfelt sympathy. The sun will shine a little dimmer with his passing.

My sincere condolences to Al Fitchett, Jr. and family for your loss. May God's grace bring you peace.

I was a graduate of Hampton Roads Academy in 1982 and had the opportunity to be in his presence for 6 years. He made an impression on me with his quiet strength and patience. I am writing this note on the day Barack Obama has been elected President, Albert in is own way helped make this a reality in our lifetimes. My condolences go to his family.

As one of the original 60 students who began HRA , I have many fond memories of Albert. He was friendly and always had a smile for me . I still remember the day he let me drive the lawn tractor during study hall; it was the highlight of my day! As a retired teacher of 30 years, I can recognize and admire his patience with, and love for, young people. He will truly be missed. Carol Rogallo Sparks
