We are missing a hero of WWII. PFC Albert Gross, later Staff Sergeant, served in Companies F and I of the 232nd Infantry Regiment, 42nd Infantry "Rainbow" Division and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in action on 10 March 1945 near Lichtenberg, France.

Sorry for the loss of a wonderful, kind man. He will truly be missed. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to work for him at the Port Richmond Thriftway. Thoughts & prayers are with all at this time.

I was sorry to hear about Al. I met him when I was a teller at Provident at 6th and SpringGarden Sts in 1976. He was one of the best, a real gentleman.
