Not sure what to say?

It is now 5 years since Professor Rickmers passing, a fitting occasion to once again reflect on his career. Al Rickmers is one of 5 persons that I proudly consider to have been a mentor to me, having had important and memorable contributions to my personal development. I recently completed a personal memoir from the period 1938 to 1960 for my family - they now also know what Professor Al Rickmers meant for me.

I would just like to say Rest in Peace great grandpa

My condolences to Professor Rickmer's family. I was a Photo Science major during the 1975-1976 school year and Professor Rickmer was my Statistics teacher all 3 quarters. I still have his book at work. I remember his enthusiam every day and his phrase to us, "This is Good Stuff!" He made Statistics fun!!!!

Professor Rickmers statistics class was one of the highlights of the Photo Science program at RIT. Here I am over 30 years later still using and referring to his textbook. He was a great teacher who taught the value of data, statistics and the importance of good experimental design. He will live forever.

It is with sadness and deep respect that I read of the passing of Professor Rickmers. I have many fond memories of my contacts with Al Rickmers during my studies at RIT, 1956-1960. He was one of the three most effective and motivational teachers that I had the privilege to experience (along with Hollis Todd at RIT and Peter Drucker during my MBA studies at NYU).
When we needed a faculty advisor for the fencing team, I went to Al Rickmers and he of course signed on. I have always felt a...

Al was a personal mentor to me at RIT, and I treasured his support and friendship. Rickmers & Todd's great book was my "go-to" reference in my own work, and in training young engineers throughout my career.

I had two delightful conflicts with Professor Rickmers in 1958. There were five “straight A” students in our calculus class,...

Remember him well. One of my best teachers. Remember him during the Cuban Missile Crisis. My prayers and thoughts go to his family.

Al Rickmers Taught me the value of statistics, which I still apply on my engineering job today 40 years later. His enthusiasm for statistics was contagious! My success as an engineer was very much influenced by Professor Rickmers. I will never forget him. What a great teacher. I am very glad our paths crossed in this life. Steve Brainerd RIT class 1974
