View Video Tribute Alberta Mason Kinzer Baker, 91, died Friday, April 13, 2012 at her residence on Williamsport Pike. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Higginbotham officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the church. Born December 9, 1920 in the Shady Grove Community of Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Walter Kinzer and Margaret Nichols Kinzer. She was a 1939 graduate of Columbia Central High School. On June 24, 1939 she married Carl Houston Baker, Sr. and celebrated seventy-two years of marriage in 2011. Mrs. Baker was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church where she had served as organist for over fifty years. A talented musician, she taught piano, organ and guitar for several years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Carol E. Baker of Fayetteville; Carl Houston Baker, Jr. of Columbia; William Bernard (Jorgi) Baker of Redding, California; Melanie B. (Randy) Ford of Nashville; sister, Nellie Underwood Elder of Franklin; grandchildren, Blythe Nabors (Fritz) Mucke, Steven Houston (Tina) Roscoe; Chelsea Adele Baker, Mindy Quiroz; great grandchildren, Lance Kinzer Baker, Kristin Darlene Baker, Tyler Roscoe, Carl Mucke, Katharine Mucke; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson, Jeffery Kinzer Baker; brother, Hubert Kinzer; and sister, Dora Wilbur Moore.
