I will always remember Allen as a great and kind soul. We grew up together, separated only by a fence between Clinton and Howard Sts, which one or the other of us climbed to play together. We went through elementary school and later high school together as friends. We enjoyed band together, argued politics, and delved into religious discussions. So sad to hear of Allen's passing. I remember him fondly, his quiet & kind demeanor. Allen was always funny when he spoke, I loved that most about him. He was my voice of reason when needing advice during band competitions. I thank him for giving my parents a portrait of my sisters & I that still hangs on their wall, some 40 years later.
