Alvin Curtis Richardson, of Velma, passed away April 14, 2021 in Velma, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years.
Alvin was born May 2, 1944 in Byars, Oklahoma to Orval Claud Richardson and Flossie Reva (Pierce) Richardson. He was raised in the Pauls Valley, Oklahoma area; most of his life he had lived in and around Lindsay, Oklahoma. Velma, Oklahoma has been his home for a short time. Alvin worked in the oil fields as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was married to Meryle Dean Wells near Rosedale, Oklahoma in McClain County on August 31, 1962. Alvin loved his wife of almost 59 years, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was known for his work ethic and made many friends through work over his lifetime. He worked on the job full time until the age of 68. He loved working! He loved rodeos and attended the Cheyenne rodeo for several years. He wore his buckles, boots, and always a cowboy hat. He was a true cowboy at heart, and he was our hero. He loved God and prayed for and over his friends and family all of the time. If you came to his house, he always greeted you with a smile. When you left you had to “hug his neck” and he always let you know he loved you. His family will miss him beyond words. This deep loss of our daddy, husband, and papa is Heaven’s gain. We know he is in Heaven and has seen the face of God and the loved ones that have gone home before him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Flossie Richardson; a son, Bryan Richardson; a granddaughter, Tylar Thomas; and a great granddaughter, Kiya Montante; and brothers, Charles Richardson and Kenneth Richardson.
His surviving family include his wife, Meryle D. Richardson; three children, Dewayne Richardson and wife, Valerie, Cindy Tilley and husband, Freddie, and Becky Thomas; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Rakett and husband, Steven, Charley Richardson, Kyle Tilley, Whytli Montante and husband, Uli, Jayden Cox and husband, Dylan, Skylar Thomas, Carly Richardson, and Austyn Thomas; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Twana Francis and husband, Jessie, Brenda Base and Sue Brown; as well as one brother, Dale Richardson.
