I first met Amada in 1987 when I was dating Vera, one of her daughters. Amada made me feel so welcome in her home. I returned in 1989 to be married in the front yard of that same home and, because of her, it was a blessed, wonderful event. Now, my wife of 24 years has returned to her Byron home to say goodbye to her mother. I and three of Amada's grandchildren will be there in spirit.
