Baca's Funeral Chapels - Las Cruces Obituary

Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, AMPARO S. FRIAS, 80, of Las Cruces left her dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, August 30, 2013 at La Posada ? Mesilla Valley Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 15, 1933 in Tabalaopa, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose and Nicanora Sepulveda Sanchez. Mrs. Frias was a homemaker and member of the Catholic Church.

Those left to mourn her passing include three sons, Manuel Frias III and wife Stella, Pete Frias and wife Socorro, Joe ?Bear? Frias and companion Angelica; five daughters, Norma Ordunez and husband Fred, Mary Lou Frias and companion Bill Panko, Terry Dorado and husband Johnny, and Susie Frias all of Las Cruces, Anna Brimmer and husband Steve of Tucson, Arizona. Other survivors include seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manuel L. Frias Jr.; three great grandsons, Justin Andrew Dorado, Aiden and Jayden Ordunez; four brothers, Ramon, Baltazar, Jesus and Manuel Sanchez; two sisters, Mercedes Rosales and Felicitas Sanchez.

Visitation will begin at 9 AM Thursday, September 5, 2013 in St. Genevieve?s Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 10 AM. The Funeral Mass will follow immediately thereafter with the Reverend Martin Cordero officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Joseph?s Cemetery where she will lay to rest.

Serving as casket bearers will be family members.
