Ann Marie Baird
Aug 25, 1927 – Apr 8, 2021
Ann Marie Baird (nee Hollister), passed away April 8, 2021, at the age of 93 in Baltimore, Md.
She was born Aug. 25, 1927, to parents John and Elizabeth Hollister in Scranton and was raised on the family homestead in Covington Twp. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Theodore.
She is survived by her nine children: sons, Timothy and wife, Phyllis; Gerald; Theodore and wife, Dale; Thomas and wife, Monta; James and wife, Becky; and daughters, Nancy and husband, Wayne Dorough; Karen and husband, Robert Head; Diane; and Jacqueline and husband, Gilbert Thomas. She is also survived by sisters, Margaret Schenk, Rosellen Verrastro and Elizabeth Yeager; as well as 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Always the first up in the morning and usually not sitting down until 10 p.m., she spent her days caring for her family and happily singing the whole day. She knew the lyrics to more songs than most people ever heard and was always one of the first up to dance at a wedding. Her sunny disposition and unfailing kindness will be missed by anyone that ever had contact with her.
Her viewing and funeral Mass was held in Baltimore where most of her family now lives. A commitment service will be held later this summer and burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow. It is interesting to note that the house she lived in up until age 6 was surrounded by St. Catherine's and Moscow Cemetery, she will now rest within its grounds.
