With grace, love, and a spirit rooted in faith, Annie M. Preston entered this world on September 25, 1948, in Jeanerette, Louisiana, born to the devoted union of Sanders and Ida Loston. Annie lived a life full of compassion, quiet strength, and enduring love for her family and all who crossed her path.
Annie was the proud and loving mother of five children: Nathaniel, Christine, David, Terry, and Karen. Her devotion to her family was unwavering. She nurtured with tenderness and guided them with wisdom. Annie’s life was a true reflection of a mother’s love and a heart devoted to caring for others.
On October 28, 2025, Annie peacefully completed her earthly journey and was lovingly welcomed into eternal rest. Although her passing leaves a gentle ache in many hearts, we take comfort in knowing she went home surrounded by love and grace. Annie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie James Preston; her three precious sons, Nathaniel, David, and Terry; and her cherished daughter, Christine, who transitioned just three days before her mother’s homegoing.
Annie leaves to honor her memory and carry forward her legacy: her devoted daughter, Karen F. Preston; two loving sisters, Urnell Johnson and Ella Mae Rodgers; one caring brother, Mitchell Malveaux; and a host of adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives were made brighter by her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Rest in heavenly peace, dear Annie. Your love continues to shine, and your legacy of grace, compassion, and faith will forever live in our hearts.
