We have many wonderful memories of Uncle Ashton. My mother, Diane, loved her brother very much and, along with the rest of us, she was always so excited every time he came to town. For many years he came to Charleston for Christmas and meet us all at the beach in NC in the summer. This is a special memory about Uncle Ashton. I remember when we were kids, every year we would go to the beach with all the family. Uncle Ashton started bringing a float every year for us kids to play on in the ocean. It would usually get destroyed within a day or two between the ocean waves and the crazy games we would play.
