Not sure what to say?

I am flooded with love and so many wonderful memories of Vern and Jean......we were lucky to move into their neighborhood and blessed to become their friends. Vern was an incredible human being, a man of the highest moral character, and a fun loving brilliant friend. Dan and I loved your parents.....and you. My deepest Sympathy to the extended Mikkelsen family.

Greetings from the people of Askov. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I enjoyed walking to school with Vern and his sister, Hertha. We were his neighbor growing up. We have fond memories of you and your family. Sorry we couldn't attend the service for Vern. He was a great man!

Growing up, my parents and the Mikkelsens were good friends. I can just see Jean, Mic, Mom and Dad laughing merrily together over something or other. As an adult, I moved back to that neighborhood. Jean and Mic were so kind to me and my sons. Such lovely people. It is the end of an era. Jon and Tom, you have my deepest sympathy.

We were neighbors growing up with the Mikkelsens. One of my fondest memories was hearing Johnny and Tom playing buckets in the driveway with Mikk. I would quickly get my Chuck Taylors on and run over to their house to watch and hopefully get asked to play. I had no idea at the time that Mikk was a Hall of Fame basketball player. He was a gentle giant of a man.
Thanks for the memories, Mr. Mikkelsen!

As a teammate, Vern and I have shared a long and memorable
road trip. He was a leader to be admired on so many levels and will not be forgotten. Our deepest sympathy to his sons and family.

My sympathies to your family-----I met Vern at one of the Hamline games last year---I do not know your family but I have been the BB clock oerator at Hamline for the past 19 seasons. Thank you-----Kevin Timm

A bright shining star until the end. You will be missed, Vern.

Vern was our neighbor in Breconwood for 30 years what a great guy. My prayers our with the family..

"Vern was the most amazing person, always positive, gentile and gracious. Our family is blessed to have known him and be inspired by his courage and compassionate. We will all miss him.
