Barbara and I grew up together as close friends as our Grandmothers had done before us. She was my friend and present at the birth of my first son. Sharing as neighbors in Midway NC for a long while and then talking about our years together in the First Methodist Church in Lexington, NC was special to us. Sad to lose such an amazing cousin...To Bill Barton, Bill Hearn and the kids, I'm sorry to hear this news but will always be grateful she was part of my upbringing. She checked in on my Mom fairly often and I can't say thank you enough. Melissa, Bruce, and I have you in our prayers.

Barbara was a wonderful friend to me and so many others. She cared for and mentored so many students in Elkin with a mother's love. Thank you , Barbara for being a part of my and my family's life.

Barbara was a dear friend, and she never failed to say, "I love you" every time she saw me. She showered love on all her friends, old and new. I am blessed to have known her. Barbara was excited about going to heaven at the end of her life. I believe that she is doing just what she lived to do: singing praise and glory to God, her Heavenly Father, and rejoicing with the saints of all the ages. She will be missed by all who knew her.
